Dear Parents/Guardians,

What a great day at Southside! Thank you to our Kindergarten teachers and our 2nd grade teachers for welcoming so many visitors for Grandparents Day! We had a great turn out last Friday and today!

On Monday, September 10, the PE teachers will begin giving BMI (Body Mass Index) testing to all 6th and 8th grade students. Students may opt out of this, but they need a parent note to stating they are opting out with parent permission.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SEPTEMBER SAINTS OF THE MONTH:

Scarlett Boyd – Scarlett has adjusted super well to starting school. She always has a great attitude toward learning, and she is an amazing classmate and friend to others.
Twila Garrett – Twila is very respectful, cares about her friends, is a hard worker, and always has a great attitude.
Lilia Bixenman – Lilia has a great attitude about learning, very positive, kind to others and all around a great student.
Jackson Boswell – Jackson is a role model, hard worker, high achiever, helps others, and is always on task.
Matthew Fletcher – Matthew goes above and beyond to help his peers. He works hard in class and is an excellent role model. His kindness and helpfulness shines through every day.
Angel Martinez – Angel puts forth his best effort every day in class. He is enthusiastic about learning and always comes to school with a smile on his face.
Avery Burrows – Avery works hard. He accomplishes goals in the classroom as well as being kind providing a good example for others to follow.
Kaylee Harlin – Kaylee has demonstrated exceptional kindness, citizenship, and attitude during the first weeks of school.
Brayden Ham – Braden is respectful and always a very hard worker.
Tucker Cook – Tucker is attentive and on task in all his classes. He puts in his best effort always. He is courteous of his fellow classmates, works with anyone, and offers help when and where he can.

It’s almost HOMECOMING WEEK! Homecoming will be September 13, 2018 at W.C. The court will be announced at 5:45 PM followed by the game at 6:30 PM. Please come out and support the SAINTS!

In honor of homecoming week, the students and teachers may participate in the following dress down days:

Monday (9/10): TWIN DAY
Tuesday (9/11): TROPICAL DAY
Wednesday (9/12): HOLIDAY DRESS DAY
Thursday (9/13): SAINT SPIRIT DAY
Friday (9/14): PJ DAY

Lunch Money: Please make sure you are depositing money in your child’s lunch account regularly. When you deposit money, the student’s first and last name and teacher’s name should be listed on the check. If you deposit cash, the cash must be in a baggie or envelope with this information written on it. homecoming dresses for 6th graders

Free/Reduced Forms: If you need to but have not filled out Free/Reduced Forms, they are DUE by Sept. 18th. After this date, if no form has been turned in, full prices for meals will apply.

Peer Tutoring: The Beta Club and Student Council will be offering peer tutoring starting September 12 until 3:15 each Wednesday. Please contact Mrs. Asher for more information.
